The BRIDE

May.23.1985
Vivi was born in Miami but raised in Santiago, Chile. She is the oldest daughter of Cecilia and Daniel Gonzalez and sister to Fabi (a.k.a. Killa G). She spent a portion of her childhood in Miami, FL (third and fourth grade) and the rest at a catholic – all girls – school in Santiago. At the age of 14, Vivi returned with her family to Miami to permanently reside. During her time in high school (Miami Springs) Vivi made two long-term friends (Floppi and Sue). College was completed at FIU, were she met another two long-term friends (Jenni and Iris). A bachelor’s of Science in Biology was the start to an attempt at a career in Medicine. After futile efforts, Vivi went back to school to complete a Bachelor’s in Nursing (BSN) at UM. That’s when life changed and took off; Vivi fell in love with her career. After a BSN, a Masters degree in Nursing specializing in pediatrics followed. It was at the end of her Masters degree that Vivi met Alexis and the fairytale started…

The Groom

Jan.18.1984
Alexis is driven by innovation and fueled by technology. He enjoys reading about the latest advances in technology and applying them to the work place and personal life – if possible of course. He studied business at FIU where he obtained his bachelor’s degree. Shortly after graduation and with the encouragement from family and friends Alexis started his own business, R. U .Asking.com. It was then he experienced an epiphany and followed the path of IT. He continued onto a translation company where he managed all internal production processes then NetSuite Administration. During his time at his last company, Alexis started his Masters degree at FIU (Masters in Information Systems, MIS).  It is not all work and no play for Alexis. Free time involves quality time with his fiancée, and kitesurfing whenever possible. Alexis also enjoys traveling, quality food, being active outdoors and entertaining family and friends at home, among many other things.

Our Story

July 2014

Our First Meet (Told by Alexis)
Jenny and Alvaro Palomino set us up to have dinner with them. Only Vivi had no idea the intention was to introduce her to me.  When we finished our dinner we were all outside talking.  I made some hints to getting her number or seeing her again but it seemed she was not interested because she promptly left while we were all still talking outside. Good thing for me we had set up a beach day the next day. Jenny also consulted me that Vivi would not be going to the beach with my dog if she was not interested. Confidence and hope reinstated, I and Dino looked forward to our beach day the next day.

Our First Meet (as told by Vivi)
My friend Jenni invited me to dinner a Saturday evening with her husband (Alvaro) and her husband’s friend (Alex). Knowning me she immediately said “chama no te preocupes, no es lo que imaginas”. I agreed and didn’t think much of it because I was used to being a third wheel.

Saturday came and I was on time as ALWAYS, patiently waiting for Jenni, Alvaro and Alex. Dinner went on uneventful discussing a myriad of topics. Alexis did arrange a beach day for the following day. During or after dinner Alex DID NOT make any attempts to request my number or showed any kind of interest. Therefore at the completion of dinner I simply said goodbye and left.

The next day the four of us went to the beach. It was at the end of the day that Alex asked for my number, I gave it to him and our love story began…

Our first kiss happens during Laura’s birthday. Later on that month it became official when Alex asked Viviana to be his girlfriend.

December 2015

Proposal
img_0068

It happened – with the assistance of KillaG- on Vivi’s first visit to New York. Vivi and KillaG planned a couples trip to NY for December 2015.  It was just over a year since Alex and Vivi started dating so a proposal was completely out of her mind.

The “proposal evening” started with a dinner to “Le Bernardin”. A limo was the mode of transportation to the restaurant (even that didn’t hint Vivi as to what to expect). Vivi says she questioned the transportation of choice (so she says but we question this question); Alex explained that the limo had not had a fare all day and that the driver was going to charge the same as a taxi. The truth was the bellhop was in on the event taking place that evening and arranged the limo, Alexis did not even know this was being done.  He smiled and gave the bellhop a nice tip.  After dinner they head back to the hotel. When Vivi opened the door to her room she saw red roses scattered all over the floor/bed, and the room had perfect lightning. She thought it was a very romantic gesture so she turned around to say thanks and found Alexis on one knee holding an engagement ring.  She was in such a state of happiness and shock she did not hear what Alexis said while on his knee.
